Welcome to Sun and Shield, a division of Walchle Ranch Hunting. We are a family run business that seeks to provide products that have a place in a prepared home and to honor our Creator in all that we do. We have found a passion for living a sustainable lifestyle. While we have not arrived by any means, we are enjoying the journey to being able to really take care of ourselves. We don’t live on a big farm, or ranch…but a home in a suburb of a mid-sized town. That being said, the things that we do really are accessible to anyone who wants to do them!
We sell freeze dried foods for emergency storage. Does this mean that we live on our GOURMET FREEZE DRIED MEALS? No, of course not. We are so grateful for this product and the peace of mind having it stored brings; however, we love whole foods and fresh milled grain (see WHOLESOME WHOLE GRAINS). We love getting our eggs from our backyard and eating of the bounty the Lord brings from our garden (we hope to be adding Heirloom seeds soon! In the meantime, contact us to get our recommendations for suppliers.) We look forward to the day that our pet cow will be old enough to give us milk—no, she’s not in our backyard…anymore!
With that said, we are continually searching for products that will benefit our customers and will be adding more products as time goes by.
We are a homeschooling family. We work together, study together, and play together. The products that the children have chosen to place in our store (see ALL NATURAL ANTLER DOG CHEWS and HANDMADE WITH LOVE) are both a labor of love for them and a lesson in economics. They have to keep track of what their product costs them to produce, what it sells for, and what it costs them to market and deliver their product. So, as you’re shopping and you see dog treats and handmade lovelies, know that they are being sold by adorable children with great big brown or green eyes, eager to know if this is really going to work!
